The Angel Oak on Johns Island, in black and white.Taking the color out of this tree is the most useful thing you can do to it. In color your eye goes straight to the green. In mono chrome you can finally follow the limbs, and they are extraordinary — running out level for great distances, dropping to the ground and rising again, crossing over one another, twisting along their own length.
