Angiotribes (also called angiotribe forceps or angiotribes) are heavy-duty crushing forceps used for ovariohysterectomies (spays) and other procedures where secure hemostasis of la rge vessels is needed. Angiotribes are specifically designed to crush and seal pedicles such as the ovarian pedicle, broad ligament, and uterine body. The crushing action creates a hemostatic seal by damaging the vessel walls and surrounding connective tissue, allowing a ligature to hold more securely.
