A one-of-a-kind handmade frame — whimsical, witchy and feminine, for those who find beauty in the things the forest leaves behind. This frame holds a small world assembled from what darkness leaves behind: the skull of a bat, a mouse, a bird — each one no larger than a secret. Vertebrae of small mammals and a deer vertebra rest among the moss, quiet as stones. A glass bottle holds crystals of amethyst, catching the light in shades of violet. Quartz catches it differently — cooler, quieter. Mushrooms push through preserved moss. Pinecones and lichen mark the edges of things. Flowers in violet, orange and rose press in from all sides, as though the forest is trying to reclaim what was taken from it.
