Vintage Delft Blue Windmill Trinket Box Candle This round, lidded ceramic trinket box features a hand-painted Delft Blue windmill scene, rendered in rich cobalt tones against a soft white ground. The detailed landscape — complete with sweeping skies, water, and a traditional Dutch windmill — reflects the timeless charm and storytelling quality that Delftware is known for. Delft Blue ceramics originated in the Netherlands in the 17th century, created as a European interpretation of imported Chinese blue-and-white porcelain. Produced primarily in the city of Delft, these wares became celebrated for their hand-painted designs depicting pastoral scenes, architecture, and daily life. Windmills, in particular, became an enduring symbol of Dutch identity and craftsmanship, frequently appearing in Delftware decoration throughout the centuries. Originally intended to hold small keepsakes or jewelry, this lidded box has been thoughtfully repurposed into a candle, preserving its decorative heritage while giving it a warm and functional second life. The vessel has been filled with 2.4 oz of all-natural soy wax and features a double wick for an even, gentle burn. Dimensions:Approximately 3.5" wide × 1.75" tall Scent: Elderberry Nectar Top Notes: Green Tea, Mandarin, Elderberry Middle Notes: Raspberry, Geranium Base Notes: Oak, Sandalwood The fragrance is softly layered and elegant — fresh and lightly citrusy at first, followed by ripe berry and floral notes, and grounded by warm woods that complement the vessel’s deep blue detailing. This piece is one of a kind. Please note: As a hand-painted vintage ceramic, subtle variations in brushwork, glaze, or minor age-related marks may be present — authentic details that speak to its history and handcrafted nature.
