This very rare annular (“ring shaped”) bottle was made in France during the 18th century. Delicate prunts adorn the vessel with protruding decorative fleur-de-lis motifs and was mo st likely made during the rule of the “Sun King”, Louis XVI. The bottle is edged with crimped, cascading trails that stream along the outline of the glass body. An exceptional example of French glass from this time period, a similar bottle also exists in the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s collection.
