This fly was first tied by Anthony Boliancu to imitate the fry of Redfin/ English Perch. The fry were first noticed in some of the backwaters of the Goulburn river during Spring fl y fishing. As there were no suitable striped flies available the fly tying bench got a workout. The red head on the fly gives a quick impression of gill flash and possibly fin colour. This fly has been used successfully in lakes to catch both Trout and Redfin and also New Zealand trout. Show more
