Anthurium make wonderful houseplants. This stunning variety has superb heart-shaped leaves and superb peach-pink coloured flowers which are very long-lasting. Anthuriums are native to South America and the Caribbean. They can be epiphytic and are often found growing on trees in highly humid environments. The Anthurium genus is renowned for its most commonly seen varieties with colourful, long-lasting blooms which are actually called 'spathes'. The colourful spathes can last as long as 6 weeks before dying back. However, rarer forms of Anthurium are sought-after for their impressive leaves rather than their spathes.
