Each oval to narrowly oval blade is deeply ridged, with the main veins sittin g in valleys between raised glossy sections. Ribbed petioles and the much paler underside add quieter structural detail below.Fresh foliage can begin copper, bronze or chocolate-brown and feels softer than the mature blade.
