I love painting figurative art of people in everyday settings. Anticipation seemed an appropriate title as we are closing 2025 and looking ahead to a New Year. We don’t know what a year will bring but I’m thankful to be able to trust God who knows all and walks with us through everything. This painting is based on a photo I took a couple of years ago at a patio restaurant during golden hour. This woman was seated at a table on the edge of the patio appearing to enjoy and anticipate the setting sun over the valley. I never did see her face because I was visiting with friends and enjoying our meal. I’m so pleased to have found time to paint again since Christmas and thoroughly enjoyed every brushstroke.
