A antique Celadon Shanxi Pottery Jar and lid, with a wide rounded body, flat fitted lid with a small oval opening, and unglazed clay bands at the rim and base. The clay showing thr ough in warm brown and ochre where it has worn at the shoulder. The interior is glazed a deep amber brown. The wear at the rim and shoulder is part of the object's history. The lid fits well and the jar is sound. Works as a storage jar, a counter object, or something that simply looks right on a shelf.
