In the Twelfth Night, Shakespeare referred to opals as a "miracle and queen of gems." This fabulous antique ring (circa 1900-1910) features an opal with great flashes of color surr ounded by a halo of twelve glistening diamonds. The ring is unmarked, but acid tests for 14k gold.
