ESSENTIALS OF ANXIETY MANAGEMENT: PANIC, PHOBIAS, AND GENERALIZED ANXIETY We will discuss crisis management by identifying elements of a crisis; analyzing the four stages, response approaches, and communication; understanding effective conflict resolution techniques and tools to support clients before, during, and after a crisis; and understanding the relationship between compassion fatigue and rational detachment. COURSE HOURS: 2.0 AUDIENCE: Human services professionals, Social workers, Behavioral health technicians, Mental health counselors OBJECTIVES: Explain the epidemiology and etiological factors that contribute to anxiety disorders, including prevalence, risk factors, and common trajectories. Identify and describe the range of clinical presentations and symptoms associated with anxiety disorders across age groups and contexts. Conduct structured assessments using standardized diagnostic criteria, validated assessment tools, and thorough clinical interviewing techniques. Differentiate between panic disorder, specific phobias, social anxiety disorder, and generalized anxiety disorder, including key diagnostic features and comorbidities. Compare and select appropriate evidence-based therapies and complementary coping strategies, and create individualized care plans that integrate psychosocial supports and relapse prevention strategies.
