This splendid poster was made by the famous poster artist Bernard Villemot 🇫🇷 (1911-1989) in 1964, to promote the Floralies Internationales which took place from April 24 to May 3, 1964, at the Palais de la Défense in Paris.The Floralies (from the Latin floralia) are horticultural exhibitions where many flowering plants are presented. Created in 1906, the Floralia are organized each year in a different city.At first an exhibition of plants as well as a reconstitution of gardens, the stakes are now turned towards an aesthetic and cultural research where the garden intervenes as a space of art and culture.Floral shows are said to be international if they gather exhibitors from several countries.
