Apiary is a competitive worker-placement and hive-building game set in a far future where hyper-intelligent bees have inherited the stars. Humanity has vanished, leaving behind technology that a single species of evolved honeybeesknown as the Melliferahas adapted and surpassed, advancing all the way to space travel. Each player leads a unique faction, managing a hive, worker bees, and limited time before the inevitable Dearth forces workers into hibernation. Educationally, Apiary develops strategic planning, resource management, and systems thinking as players optimize actions, weigh opportunity costs, and adapt to escalating worker abilities.
