Apivar – Highly Effective Varroa Mite Treatment Apivar has become one of the most trusted and widely used treatments for controlling Varroa mite infestations in honeybee colonies. Licensed for use in the UK, Apivar has been clinically proven to eliminate up to 99% of Varroa mites with a single treatment, helping to maintain strong and healthy colonies throughout the season. Each sachet contains 10 treatment strips, providing enough product to treat up to 5 hives. Simple and Effective Application Place one Apivar strip between every 5 frames of bees within the brood box. The active ingredient, Amitraz, is slowly released over a 6-week period, paralyzing and killing mites as they come into contact with the strips. Unlike some other Varroa treatments, Apivar is not temperature-dependent, meaning it can be used at any time of year when conditions allow. Important: Treatment must not be applied when honey supers are on the hive. Always remove supers before beginning treatment to prevent contamination of honey intended for human consumption.
