It was one of three parts of the complete Apollo spacecraft, along with the Service Module containing the propulsion system, and the Lunar Module (nicknamed, "Eagle") that descended upon the moon's service. The Command Module was the only portion of the spacecraft that returned to earth.Mission Highlights:In addition to being living quarters for the crew, the Command Module was tasked with bringing the astronauts safely back to earth.
