Apoquel is not a steroid, antihistamine, or an immunosuppressive agent. It targets a specific enzyme system that is responsible for itching and inflammation. Do not use in dogs less than 12 months of age or in dogs with serious infections. The use of APOQUEL has not been evaluated in combination with glucocorticoids, cyclosporine, or other systemic immunosuppressive agents. Dogs receiving APOQUEL should be monitored for the development of infections, including demodicosis, and neoplasia.
