Difficulty: Beginner Our newest beginner level quilt, Appasionata (68” x 68”), was inspired by memories of my Father. He had a passion for Beethoven’s Sonatas. I have a lifetime of memories listening to him play Beethoven’s sonatas on the piano in our living room - Moonlight, Appassionata and Pathetique. Now, since his death in 2016, he plays only in my memory. teamed up my memories with these passionate purple batiks from the Tonga Magic collection by Timeless Treasures, and a quilt was birthed. This quilt was appropriately built around our Remembrance, Medallion XIV pattern, using it as the center medallion. From the design elements of Remembrance I created the blocks and motifs for the borders. As always, all our patterns are durable and come full-size, so there’s no need to enlarge the pattern or re-position as you trace the design either onto your fabric, if making by hand, or your Soft Fuse if making it by machine. The pattern comes with extensive step-by-step instructions for hand and machine reverse applique and applique, and quilt top assembly.
