Apricot Lemonade is a stunning variety of cosmos that produces unique dusky pink blooms with hints of yellow and orange. Although this is a beautiful variety—one of our favorites, actually—we think the name leads gardeners to expect that they will be more yellow than they actually are. In our hands, the flowers are predominantly a dusky rose color with hints of apricot near the outside of the blooms. As the flowers mature, the yellow tones fade and they are almost solidly pink. (If you are looking for cosmos with more yellow than pink, please take a look at our Pale Yellow Cosmos). Don't let that discourage you, though, the fresh flowers are really beautiful! Apricot Lemonade Cosmos make a lovely cut flower, especially when set against contrasting colors like blue or green. It has a vase life of 4 to 6 days. Blooms summer through fall. Tolerates poor soils and drought. Deer-resistant. Approximately 25 seeds per packet.
