In April, Durham Botanic Gardens became a sanctuary of springtime bliss, embodying nature's renewal. The artist sought to convey the perfect harmony of a sunny day and the warmth of spring through a careful blend of colours, textures, and the interplay of natural elements. This particular work holds special significance, as it is one of the artist’s wife’s favourites, though her perspective may be subjective, given that she was born in April. Throughout the creation of this series, the artist’s wife provided invaluable suggestions and feedback, accompanying the artist on each painting session.
