Designed to be used with the Aprilaire Model 1850F Dehumidifier, the Aprilaire 5499 Replacement Filter is a MERV 8 foam core and aluminum frame filter. Filtering most allergens, th e MERV 8 filter is able to trap particles as small as 3 microns. For the Aprilaire 1850F to function at full capacity, the air filter should be checked and cleaned every 6 months. The CLEAN FILTER service reminder on the dehumidifier will display on the on-board screen every 6 months to remind you to check the filter. Cleaning or replacing the filter regularly helps to prevent any damage to the Aprilaire dehumidifier.
