The Apurinã tribe make their famous green Rapé from a plant they call Awiry. They don’t use ashes, only Awiry. They just dry its leafs, pound them and sieve the powder. It doesn’ t contain tobacco. Because the Awiry grows close to the river, this Rapé can only be made in the dry season when the river is low. Awiry is traditionally inhaled through a straight tube, a unique snuffing style that differs from most Rapè varieties that are blown up the nose. Show more
