This shine will change over time as there is no chemical coating inside your device and it is normal for copper to change through oxidation. It is possible that this oxidation process may start during the shipping process and before your first use. At any time, you can restore the copper shine in your funnel by cleaning it with the included copper scouring pad. Any discoloration in the funnel is normal oxidation and purely a cosmetic issue.
