Ara 250 marks a turning point in the ever complex folded world of artist Matthew Shlian. Using acid free archival papers and glue, this series explores a pattern system based in geometric construction, four-fold symmetry and aperiodic design. The limited edition of 36 contains 12 distinct paper works. Represented in Black, White and Metallic Gun Metal papers, each of the three colors offers a distinct version of the same patterns. The works can be shown as a singular piece or presented as a triptych. Of his pattern language Shlian writes: “A series of limitations within the work shapes the composition and construction. The pattern emerges as a result of shifts in light, reflection and shadow.” Details: 250th piece of Shlian's 10 year series Limited Edition of 12 only available at The Ghostly Store Dimensions: 12" x 12" x 1/2"
