The A10 fits where standard subwoofers cannot, built with premium materials that earn the A-Series its place in Arc Audio's lineup. 250W RMS 500W Peak 3.77 in Mounting Depth Dual 2 or Dual 4 Ohm Shallow-Mount Built Properly The Arc Audio A10 was designed specifically for installations where depth is the hard constraint: under rear seats in trucks and SUVs, behind front seats in sports cars and extended cabs, custom shallow enclosures, spare tire well conversions. At 3.77 inches of mounting depth, it opens locations that a standard 5.5 inch subwoofer cannot reach. The distinction from a budget shallow-mount is how Arc Audio built it. A Totoku copper wire voice coil imported from Japan, a spun-laced Nomex composite former, a progressive polycotton Nomex-blend spider, and all bonding surfaces laser-etched and primed before adhesion. These are not cosmetic details; they are why the A10 handles 250 watts RMS continuously in a package less than 4.25 inches tall. 3.77 inMounting Depth 250WRMS Power 8mmXmax 0.85Cu Ft Optimum (Gross) A-Series vs. ARC Series: Different Problems, Different Solutions The A10 and the ARC Series 10 both handle 250 watts RMS and carry the same price. The difference is what each driver is designed for. The ARC Series 10 is a 5.5 inch deep standard driver with 16mm Xmax, built for balanced linear performance in conventional sealed enclosures. The A10 is a 3.77 inch shallow driver with 8mm Xmax, built for installations where the ARC 10 will not physically fit. The choice is not about which is better; it is about which one solves your specific installation constraint. If you have 5.5 inches of mounting depth, the ARC Series 10 gives you more excursion capability and a broader range of enclosure options. If you have 4 inches or less, the A10 is the answer. Built for the Installation, Not the Spec Sheet The A10 uses a progressive heat-pressed poly-injected pulp cone for low mass and consistent acoustic behavior across a wide range of listening levels. The UV grade polyether surround resists degradation from ultraviolet exposure, humidity, and temperature cycling, which matters in vehicles with significant sun exposure or temperature swings. The multi-point geometric basket design controls resonances in the motor and basket structure that would otherwise color the bass response and waste acoustic energy. Fitment at a glance: mounting depth 3.77 inches, cutout 9-1/16 inches, outside diameter 10.08 inches, total depth 4.24 inches. Plan for a minimum of 4.25 to 4.5 inches of internal enclosure height to allow rear clearance for the motor assembly. Arc Audio publishes enclosure volumes as gross (external) dimensions; see the enclosure performance section below for calculated alignments at each recommended volume. Arc Audio publishes the A10 enclosure volumes as gross (external) dimensions. Net internal volume will be smaller after accounting for panel thickness and driver displacement. Calculated using the same formulas as the Audio Intensity Sealed Box Calculator. One important note specific to this driver: the A10 has 8mm of one-way Xmax, which is less than the ARC Series 10 at 16mm. The frequency response curves show the theoretical sealed alignment, but maximum clean output before excursion limiting will be lower than a deeper-mount driver at the same enclosure tuning. Plan amplifier power accordingly and set gains conservatively. Qtc values from 0.775 to 0.913 (D2) and 0.837 to 0.989 (D4) produce full-sounding bass with a gentle midbass lift. F3 falls in the 37 to 40 Hz range, solid deep bass extension for a shallow-mount 10. Remember that Arc publishes these volumes as gross (external) dimensions, so actual net internal volume will be somewhat smaller. Also note the A10's 8mm Xmax is half that of the ARC Series 10, which means maximum undistorted output is lower; the sealed alignment shown here is the frequency response shape, not an output level guarantee at high excursion. Vehicle cabin gain below 80 Hz adds 6 to 12 dB in practice. Run your own numbers in the Sealed Box Calculator. Ready to build?
