Dense cross-hatched mesh — black, fine as engraving — wraps the skull and drapes across the shoulder, pressing i nto the surface beneath it. Where the mesh opens or compresses, tarnished gold and pale stone emerge: cracked, patinated skin that reads as cast mineral before it reads as flesh. Two materials share the same form without merging. The mesh is a layer applied; the gold is a layer revealed — or what remains after something has been removed. Neither state is prior.
