Imagine a future where the natural world is just a sensational memory Only the privileged few can access it From reliquaries of archived scent. Working with UCL Olfactory Heritage, I archived the scent of the South Downs at threat of extinction by the climate crisis, like so much of Britain’s remaining nature. The glass was handcrafted, using fragments of local plants and chalk, to create Ghost Glass, preserving the memory of nature through intense radiation. I formed the perfume bottle into an olfactory bulb, the part of the human brain that processes smell. Smell is the strongest sense for memory. Show more
