Sometimes I close my eyes and go back there: to the tree, to the wind, to that moment when everything was simple and no one asked you to be anything else. The banana tree doesn’t try to fit in, It stands on its own. Because there’s something in the roots that isn’t negotiable, something that doesn’t adapt just to be more likable.
