The IP54 rating protects against dust and water splashing, but the Ares is designed for sheltered positions such as covered soffits, porches and terrace ceilings. It should not be installed in locations exposed to direct rainfall, snow or submersion. Is the LED replaceable? The Ares uses integrated LED modules rated at 10W and 3000K. The LEDs are not user-replaceable. When the LEDs reach end-of-life the entire unit requires replacement. What fixing method does it use? The downlight is surface-mounted using screws through the rear of the metal housing. The mounting surface must support the weight of the unit and provide a stable base for the fixing points.
