Armadillos are mammals with pointed snouts and long, sticky tongues. They look like anteaters, which are close cousins, but they are covered in bony plates. Their name means ‘littl e armored one’ in reference to their unique look and protective shell. The Armadillo Plush captures this distinct look while remaining soft enough to snuggle with. It is 22 inches long and 7.5 inches tall. Here are some more interesting facts about armadillos: They use the hair on their belly to feel their way around. Armadillos have sharp claws for digging. They are mostly nocturnal. They roll into a ball when threatened. They use their long, sticky tongues to slurp up ants. They have poor eyesight, so they rely on their highly developed sense of smell.
