Sting Armaplus Full Face Head Guard Full-face coverage, clear vision, no slip - the competition-ready sparring head guard. The Sting Armaplus Full Face Head Guard is built for boxers who spar hard and want to keep their brow, cheeks and chin covered without losing sight of the punches coming in. The SLV3 outer skin is Sting's most durable synthetic leather - it shrugs off glove abrasion and sweat season after season, which is why this guard is the one Sting positions for fighters who'll use it across a whole career rather than a single camp. High-profile padding sits over the brow, cheekbones, temples and chin, absorbing impact where sparring punches actually land. The anatomical full-face cut keeps the padding close to the face so the guard stays put on contact, and a fast-fit hook-and-loop rear strap lets you dial the fit in seconds - no laces, no re-tying between rounds. Who It Suits Boxers, kickboxers and Muay Thai fighters in regular sparring, and amateurs who want the same guard for training and competition. If you prefer more open sight lines with lighter cheek coverage, the Sting Viper X Gel Full Face is the gel-cushioned step up in the Sting range; for MMA-style sparring with more ear protection, see the Onyx Full-Contact Head Guard. Sizing matters more on a head guard than almost any other piece of kit: too tight causes pressure and overstretches the shell, too loose shifts on impact and can expose the brow or nose. If you sit on a boundary, consider your jawline and hairstyle - a heavier jaw or thicker hair generally means sizing up. Size Head Circumference (cm) Head Circumference (inches) Small 51.5 - 55.5cm 20.5" - 22.0" Medium 55.5 - 59.5cm 22.0" - 23.5" Large 59.5 - 63.5cm 23.5" - 25.0" Extra Large 63.5 - 67.5cm 25.0" - 26.5" Frequently Asked Questions Full face or open face - which do I need?Full face (this guard) adds cheek and chin coverage on top of brow and temple protection and is the standard for regular sparring, especially against heavier hitters or when you're working on defence. Open-face guards give better vision and breathing but leave the cheeks and nose exposed - they suit light technical sparring or fighters who compete without cheek protection and want to train the same way. How should it fit?Snug all round with no rocking when you shake your head. The chin strap should be firm but not restrict your jaw or breathing, the rear strap tight enough that the guard can't slide forward over your eyes, and the ear padding centred on your ears. Move your head through fight positions and do a few rounds of light sparring before you rely on it in a hard session. Is it approved for amateur competition?Sting builds the Armaplus to a competition specification, but approval is set by each governing body and can change. Check the current rules of your federation before competing in any head guard. How do I look after it?Wipe the inside and outside with a damp cloth after every session and leave it open to air dry - never in a gym bag overnight. Keep it out of direct sun and hot cars; heat and sweat left in the padding are what shorten a head guard's life.
