A five-sided tube bent from one sheet of tinted acrylic, 115mm tall, with a peaked back and an inner panel set on a diagonal so it splits into two unequal compartments. APTONE bends its acrylic rather than gluing it, so the corners come around as soft radii and there is no adhesive line anywhere on the body. The colour sits inside the sheet rather than on it, and the cut edges catch it: the rim reads as a bright line against a paler wall.The deep compartment behind the panel takes pens, pencils and scissors upright. The shallow one in front is sized for a sticky-note pad, business cards or folded memos, which is what stops this being another cup with everything jumbled together. The footprint is 96 × 91mm, small enough to live between a monitor stand and a keyboard, and it holds a working handful rather than a whole drawer. Every cut edge is polished, so none of them has an edge to it. APTONE makes two more pieces on the same form: Aroo 2, the same tube with a fluorescent divider standing upright, and Aroo 3, a wider low rack for post and books.Wipe with a soft dry cloth, or rinse under water and dry. Keep alcohol, glass cleaner and solvents off it, they craze acrylic. Lift it rather than dragging it across a surface, and keep it out of direct heat.
