Issue 04 features an interview with filmmaker Victor Nunez who had just wrapped his arguably most notable film, Gal Young Un (1979). Some of Nunez's other films up until that point involved southern investigation—A Circle in the Fire, for example, was adapted from the short story by Flannery O'Connor. Gayla Jamison writes of Nunez: "In Gal Young Un, Nunez skillfully translates the soft rolling hills of a South Georgia dairy farm and piney woods into a gothic O'Connor landscape." Later, writer Dick Robinson begins a series on Avant-Garde music with a discussion of the first-ever published electronic music score, Karlheinz Stockhausen's "Studie II."
