This issue is the first of a planned series of interviews conducted by Mary Godon with major contemporary artists, art historians, and critics. The series starts with the significant and socially concerned Rudolf Baranik and additionally features excerpts from the journal kept over the past decade by Tom Ferguson. A large subsection of this issue tackles gender and representation, featuring Patrice McDermott's examination o the French feminist Luce Irigaray, Glenn Harper's essay on Kathy Acker, and an excerpt from Acker's forthcoming novel Don Quixote. Some notable reviews include Jay Murphy's review of Vera Lehndorff and Holger Trulzsch's Oxydationen, E.
