Twin sister of Apollo and daughter of Zeus, Artemis was the eternal huntress — sovereign of wild places, protector of young women, and goddess of the crescent moon. She was depicted in ancient art as eternally youthful, armed with a bow, and crowned with the lunar crescent that marked her dominion over the night sky. In Roman mythology she was known as Diana. The ring captures her as a sculpted face in bonded marble, crowned with a 24K gold-plated crescent moon — her most enduring symbol.
