A simple spring-loaded flap covers the activation button preventing inadvertent use and the integrated ultra-bright strobe light ensures maximum visibility. Antenna deployment is achieved simply with only a gentle pull necessary to facilitate release. Artex Emergency Locator Transmitter The ARTEX PLB works with the only officially recognized worldwide dedicated search and rescue satellite network (operated by Cospas Sarsat). As this satellite network is funded by governments, there are NO CHARGES to use this service in the event of an emergency. When activated, the ARTEX PLB transmits your position and your ID to a Rescue Coordination Center via satellite link. Rescue services nearest to you are promptly notified of your emergency and initiate the Search & Rescue process.
