Recorded in 1952 in Flatiron Recording Studios,“ The Banks of the River are Lined with Gold” and its B-side “If It Don’t Work Out,” marked a move into the mainstream for Vendetti. A story that began in the green acreage of Calypso, Colorado, was at the time of these recordings spreading like snowmelt across America. 20 years later, in 1972, Johnson Vendettiʼs nephew, Francis, prepares to take the stage for the first time.
