AS60 is specifically engineered for applications where a hydrodynamic oil film cannot be used or achieved, such as during component assembly, machine start-up, and high load/low speed operations. The MoS2 solid lubricant offers an impressive load-bearing capacity (>140,000 psi, exceeding the yield point of most metals), creating an ultra-low friction barrier that prevents cold welding or metal pick-up, which could otherwise cause severe damage to components. AS60 is versatile and can be used in a range of applications, including assembly of transition and interference fit components, lubrication of sliding mechanisms, plain bearings, pins, bushes, and valves, as well as providing start-up or dry-run protection for gears.
