I’ve found these Japanese mallets to be essential, used mainly for assembling things, setting planes, and driving chisels. The head is cast iron with two firm plastic striking surf aces that are very slightly domed which stops the thing you are hitting being damaged. The head weighs 400g so there is enough clout without being tiring to use, and feels much more refined in use than a traditional super chunky wooden mallet. The handle is made from oak. Show more
