The Ashburton Place Round Side Table carries itself with the quiet authority of a well-considered object — its circular form softening the geometry of a room while its proportions, at twenty-six inches square and twenty-five inches in height, place it in perfect conversation with a generous sofa or a wingback chair. Theodore Alexander has long understood that a side table is never merely functional; it is a moment of punctuation within a larger composition, a surface upon which a lamp, a stack of books, or a single object of beauty finds its proper stage. The silhouette here is restrained without being spare, possessing that particular kind of elegance that announces itself only gradually, as one lives with a piece over time. Show more
