This is the joyful “open the box and begin” weaving kit: a generous, beautifully considered collection for anyone longing to make their first piece of cloth. At its heart is Ashford’s wonderfully approachable 40cm SampleIt loom — compact enough for a kitchen table, but wide and capable enough for scarves, samples, textured cloth and many happy hours of colour play.I particularly like that this is not a pared-back starter bundle. Alongside the loom you receive two different reeds, yarn for your first project, excellent books and all the little practical pieces that can otherwise leave a beginner wondering what they have forgotten. It makes a magnificent gift, but it is equally lovely as permission to begin a long-dreamed-of craft for yourself.Everything included 40cm (16in) Ashford SampleIt rigid heddle loom Canvas carry bag for the loom and accessories 7.5dpi reed and 5dpi reed Two shuttles, threading hook, warping peg and clamps Ashford finishing wax polish Learn to Weave on the SampleIt Loom booklet The Ashford Book of Rigid Heddle Weaving, filled with ideas and techniques 100g of soft Ashford Merino Bouclé looped yarn Cotton yarn for lashing on the warp Full instructions for weaving your first light, cosy scarf or shawl The two reeds let you explore both the included bouclé and a lovely range of other yarns once the first project has sparked your imagination.Ordering from AshfordIf this item is not currently on the shelf, you can still order it through my website.
