Ashwagandha Root or Withania somnifera- A staple in Ayurvedic Medicine, an adaptogen or substance that helps the body adapt to stress. Ashwagandha is used to manage stress, reduce depression, and encourage youthful vitality and energy. It also promotes restful sleep, so taking some before bed is a win/win. Consistency is key here. This is not an automatic stress reliever, try it out twice a day for 8 weeks and you will feel a significant reduction of stress in your body. This Ashwangandha was grown right in my own garden this summer and tended to with love and care. The roots were then washed and chopped and soaked in 100 proof grain alcohol to macerate for 8 weeks and shaken gently every day.
