The Assai Cork Mat is an upgrade that fits *most turntables and can improve a dust and static problem on vinyl. On one side of the cork mat there is a label recess, to be faced upw ards on the turntable. A felt mat gives a smooth contact between the vinyl record and turntable platter but has the disadvantage of static build-up. That means that felt mats often collects a lot of dust which can be then transferred to the record. Also, the damping ability is very limited which can be a problem with metal platters.
