Their active swimming style and bold personalities make them a lively addition to community aquariums, while larger sailfin varieties add impressive finnage and presence. This species is easy to keep and beginner-friendly, especially in stable, slightly alkaline water. Mollies are highly adaptable and can even tolerate low levels of salinity, though they thrive perfectly well in freshwater when parameters are consistent. Like other livebearers, they reproduce readily in mixed groups.
