Assorted Molly This abundant livebearer is present in both freshwater and saltwater environments, spanning from the Southern United States to Columbia. They possess a sleeker physique than platies and can grow up to 4-5 inches (10-13 cm) in size. They exhibit excellent aquarium cleaning abilities, constantly foraging for leftover food and removing hair algae with their flat mouths. They are a peaceful bunch most of the time but can show signs of aggression when crowded or surrounded by aggressive tank mates. Therefore, it’s important that their tank is big enough, and that they have suitable tank mates. Diet and Feeding: In nature, mollies are nearly exclusively plant and algae eaters, They enjoy eating algae growth in the aquarium, and will graze endlessly on it, looking for choice patches to nibble. If your aquarium lacks algae, you must provide “spirulina” flakes, special commercial Molly food, or small amounts of chopped boiled spinach. CompatibilityThe Molly is extremely peaceful, and makes an idealcommunity fish.
