Assorted Pumpkin Nerite Snails | 3 Pack Assorted Pumpkin Nerite Snails are small freshwater snails with shells that can range from bright yellow to golden orange, sometimes with unique patterns. No two look exactly the same. Some have thin stripes, while others have speckles or other cool markings. They usually stay under about an inch, which makes them a great cleanup crew for both nano tanks and larger community aquariums. Like most nerite snails, they love grazing on algae and will spend their time cleaning glass, rocks, and decorations around the tank. Plus, their bright colored shells add a fun pop of color to any setup. More about Nerites Nerite snails are one of the most popular freshwater snails in the aquarium hobby, and for good reason. They are fantastic algae eaters and will happily clean algae from glass, substrate, rocks, and decorations around the tank. One of the biggest reasons hobbyists love them is that they won’t overpopulate your aquarium. While they may lay eggs, nerite snails require brackish water for those eggs to hatch and for the babies to develop. Since most aquariums are freshwater, the eggs won’t hatch, and you won’t end up with a tank full of snails. Besides being incredibly useful, they’re also really fun to watch.
