All of our rings in this collection are made with Vermeil (pronounced vehr-may), which is a type of jewelry made with precious metals aimed to last a lifetime when cared for properly.In order to be called “vermeil,” the jewelry must meet the following quality conditions: Base material is sterling silver (92.5% pure silver + 7.5% other materials) Gold plating must be at least 10k Plating is at least 2.5 microns thick The gold rings in our Opal Ring Collection are high-quality gold vermeil with 3 microns of 14k gold over a 92.5% sterling silver base, which is above the minimum requirement for vermeil.
