Astral Panic by Katie Hicks is a YA graphic novel about Gale, an art student whose anxiety has him skipping class, avoiding people, and chugging products from a wellness brand call ed Simply Pear — whose relentless app is definitely not helping. He's convinced everyone around him is cooler and more put together than he is, and his coping strategy is mostly to hide. That plan falls apart when his new roommate Aiden — bubbly, shameless, and in need of a job-hunting buddy — drags him out into the world. What follows is a run of terrible part-time jobs, an introduction to Aiden's band, and a slow realization that connection might do more for Gale than any app ever could.
