Astyanax for the NES is a side-scrolling action platformer where the player controls a 16-year-old high school student transported to a magical realm to rescue Princess Rosebud fro m the evil wizard Blackhorn. The game features a unique "power gauge" for attacks, weapon upgrades (axe, spear, or sword), and three magic spells: a blast, a lightning strike, and a time-stop spell.
