Dimensions 34cmx29.5cm framed. Helge Dahlman (1924–1979) was a Finnish artist whose career developed through several significant phases. He made his breakthrough as an expressionist, but during the 1950s became a prominent representative of pure painting. In the 1960s, Dahlman’s work adopted a lighter and more vibrant character, incorporating elements of pointillism and post-impressionism. During the 1970s, he combined influences from both plein air and landscape painting. Dahlman was awarded the Pro Finlandia Medal in 1964, in recognition of his contribution to Finnish art.
